At the night of May 13th 2014, Cheng Yu Tung College successfully held the second High Table Dinner of this semester. The honorable High Table Guests included the Master of Cheng Yu Tung College, Professor Chung Ling, the Vice Rector of University Macao (Student Affairs), Professor Haydn Chen, Associate Vice President (Student Affairs) of Lingnan University, Professor Lee Hung-kai, Vice President of Tsing Hua University, Professor Yip Pang, the Director of Hong Kong-American Center, Professor Morton Holbrook, UM SAO director, Dr. Peter Yu, and Master of UM Shiu Pang College, Professor Kenneth Leung. The guest speaker was Professor Holbrook. His speech topic was US – China relations: The Road Ahead. He recalled the road that Sino – US foreign relations had experienced for the past 30 years, and was confident with the prospect of the two nations’ relations because of their national interests. Professor Morton Holbrook is the Executive Director of the Hong Kong America Center. He has law degrees from the University of Chicago (JD) and Columbia University (LLM). As a diplomat he worked for ten years in China, and a total of 20 years in Asia. He helped open the US Embassy in Beijing in 1979, and later served as US Consul General in Shenyang.  He also had assignments at the US Department of State in Washington, DC, and at the Council on Foreign Relations in New York City.

Other High Table Guests included the director of UM CO, Ms. Katrian Cheong, acting director of UM CMO, Ms. Linda Chan, UM SCD director, Mr. Elvo Sou, etc. College fellows of Cheng Yu Tung College, such as Victoria Lei, also presented the dinner. All students were in formal dressing for the Dinner. During the Dinner, Ms. Yin Yu, who is a student from Cheng Yu Tung College, played Chinese traditional instrument, Guzheng. The Dinner created a platform for the students to meet distinguished guests and learn college members in a formal way, and was very successful.
