After the exchange visit of 10 students of Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) to Peking University (PKU) led by Ms. Diane Lu in May 2018, CYTC successfully held the exchange program with Yuanpei College of PKU from September 2nd to 8th, 2018 in University of Macau (UM). The delegation of two staff and 10 students from PKU stayed in CYTC. The program in Macau focused on “Cultural Interflow of China and the West”. Three cultural activities were held: a lecture by Dr. Lei Chin Pang of Department of Communication, UM on “Knowing Macau through the Film Sisterhood”; a lecture by Ms. Lei Keng Lam on “Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society during the World War II”; Dr. Lam Fat Iam, Director of Centre of Sino-Western Cultural Studies, Macao Polytechnic Institute, on “Protection and Utilization of Macau Cultural Heritage”. The next few days after the lectures, CYTC students took the PKU delegation to the historical sites for field trips. A PKU student said “after thorough study of their artistic aspects, it is very impressive to see the real thing.”

In addition to the gaming industry and society of Macau, Ms. Diane Lu took PKU students to visit the non-government organization called Associação Juventude Voluntária de Macau to understand the importance of “responsible gaming”. Furthermore, PKU students also took the chance to attend CYTC High Table Dinner to experience the life of residential colleges in UM. They had a great night with the other 270 College teachers and residents.

This was the 3rd year that two Colleges visited each other. Two Colleges agreed the exchange program will be continued next year and hopefully more interesting theme studying or project-based elements will be put in so as to strengthen the quality of exchange programs.
