Q1. What should I do with the cleaning tools in the room?
A: For environmental and hygiene purposes, it is suggested to clean the tools and keep them in the shared bathroom of your room. The cleaning tools can be reused in the upcoming academic year.
Q2. I have some items that I want to donate to charity, but I’m unsure whether they will be accepted. How can I check?
A: The House Association, Resident Assistant and Resident Tutor of CYTC will set up a donation station in the dining hall to collect the items for charity sale. Kindly refer to the poster from HA, RA and RT for the details of the “Accepts items”
Q3. What do I do if I accidentally damage something in the room?
A: In case of accidental damage to any item in the room, students should promptly submit a maintenance order in the CMMS system (https://cmms.um.edu.mo/helpdesk/login.aspx) and arrange for repairs before moving out. It is important to note that the maintenance order should be submitted at least 48 hours in advance to allow sufficient time for the repair. During the maintenance appointment time, students must remain in their rooms to facilitate the repair process. In case the damaged furniture cannot be fixed, students may be charged an additional fee, depending on the severity of the damage and the item that is damaged. Further information on such charges will be explained during the room inspection and move-out procedure.
Q4. Can I bring my car onto campus to help me with the move out?
A: During the mass move-out period, The road gates on the Residence Avenue (near the Staff Quarters) and the Alumni Avenue (near E11 FST) will be opened from 08:00 to 18:00. Vehicles of student residents or their parents could drive-in the campus for pick-up and loading purposes at designated zones. Kindly refer to the e-bulletin of Security and Facilities Services Section.
Q5. Can I have visitors help me move out?
A: Yes, each student can have two visitors as usual, but opposite gender visitors are not allowed to enter students’ rooms. Please refer to the visitor policy of CYTC.
Q6. When do I receive the debit note for my room’s water and electricity fee?
A: In general, students will receive the e-debit note in the 3rd quarter to settle the payment at any branch of BNU and BOC, make online payment, or telegraphic transfer. For incoming exchange students who would like to obtain the security deposit in cash, they may request to calculate the water and electricity fee during the move-out procedure and pay the fee at N6 (Finance Office) during office hours.
Q7. I am a graduating/exchange student, how do I claim the security deposit of MOP 1,000?
A: All new registered students are required to pay the security deposit of MOP1,000 during the study period. The deposit is refundable to the students upon graduation or withdrawal and settlement of all outstanding liability due to the University. The procedures to claim the deposit will be done during the move out procedure. You will be asked to select a method for receiving your deposit, and we will then hand over the processing of your refund to the treasury department. Normally, the deposit is refunded by bank transfer to your bank account registered in ISW.
Q8. I lost my room card/student ID. What should I do?
A: In the case of a lost room card, students are required to handle the equivalent fee associated with losing a room card on a normal basis (20 MOP for your first time, 50 MOP subsequently). Please remember to use either the UM app or your MacauPass on the machine next to the printer on G/F, and provide the email receipt during your move out procedures. With the case of a lost student ID, if students aren’t able to provide their student card during the move out procedure, please provide other identification documents for verification.
Q9. Can I request extra storage space for the summer luggage?
A: Each eligible student (those who have been selected to reside in CYTC in the upcoming academic year) can apply to store up to two standard spaces for storing luggage in the summer. The size for each standard space is 60cm x 30cm x 60cm. If you need extra storage space, you are suggested to rent a mini storage outside the campus with your own budget.
