On April 10 and 11, 2021, the Interim College Master Alfred Wong, Associate Master Gong Yingxue, Resident Fellows Lu Chinghui, Tang Yuming and several college student leaders, 41 people in total, visited Beijiao, Lunjiao, Ronggui and other places in Shunde for a two-day-one-night study trip. The itinerary was full and fantastic. Thanks to the thoughtful arrangement and kind hospitality of Qiu Guosheng, deputy director of the Greater Bay Area Office of Shunde District, Foshan, the teachers and students of CYTC visited Guangdong Industrial Design City, Chow Tai Fook Jewelry Cultural Center, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base for Hong Kong and Macau Youth, Shunde Industrial Development Exhibition Hall, He Art Museum, Qinghui Garden etc. They felt immersed in the strong atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship, the heritage of profound traditional culture and vigorous vitality. They also had a more comprehensive knowledge about the environment provided for Shunde’s economic and social development, as well as the incentive policies and the attractive platforms for the development of Hong Kong and Macao youth in the Greater Bay Area.

“I wish that this kind of study trip would become a regular activity in our college, which is planned to hold at least once a year in the future”, said by Alfred Wong, the Interim College Master of CYTC and Associate Professor of Department of Electromechanical Engineering of University of Macau. He emphasized that, apart from its famous cuisine, Shunde had many entrepreneurial opportunities, especially in terms of technology, which was potentially promising. He hoped that the college and UM would develop closer cooperation with Shunde of the industry-university-research mode, as well as applying the research and design of the University onto the enterprises and consumer markets. Alfred Wong also encouraged students to participate in some innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, to seize the opportunities for learning and development in Shunde, and to make their contributions for a world-class Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while expanding their personal platforms.
