Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) went to Macau SMG to pay a visit on March 10th, 2021. CYTC Resident Fellow, Dr. Tang Yu-Ming and 21 students joined this event. Through this 1.5 hour visit, CYTC members learned about various weather changes and had a comprehensive understanding of meteorological symbols and some commonly used measuring instruments. The staff of Macau SMG will predict the weather of the day or the next few days based on the observational instrument data. With the advancement of technology and the development of machines, SMG staff does their best to provide Macau citizens much more accurate weather forecasts. All participants learned how the weather prediction works through this event and moreover, they also gained the knowledge to avoid some losses caused by the weather. By reducing the potential damage, people who reside in Macau would for sure feel secure and safe.
