Representatives from the University of Macau’s Cheng Yu Tung College visited the University of Malaya’s Kolej Kediaman Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah (KK12) to formalize an agreement of cooperation. The agreement was signed by Prof. Wong Seng Fat, Interim Master of Cheng Yu Tung College, and Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Khairunnisa Hasikin, Principal of KK12, representing their respective institutions. The signing was witnessed by Professor Dr. Zamri Radzi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs.

The discussions that followed highlighted promising avenues for collaboration, particularly in service-learning programs. Both parties expressed keen interest in joint initiatives centered on STEM education and innovation, aiming to foster collaboration in creating inspiring programs. The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs, symbolizing a shared commitment to strengthening ties between the two residential colleges.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in fostering cross-border academic cooperation, paving the way for inspiring programs that will benefit students and faculty alike. The collaboration is expected to drive innovation, enhance learning experiences, and create meaningful opportunities for both institutions in the years to come.

During the visit, the CYTC team also toured UM’s Centre for Innovation and Enterprise (CIE), where both institutions shared insights into their ongoing projects and initiatives. University of Malaya showcased its dynamic entrepreneurship ecosystem, including student-led startups and industry partnerships, while CYTC highlighted its own innovation-driven programs, such as interdisciplinary research collaborations and ESG-related projects.
