Each CYTC resident is entitled to MOP70 electricity subsidy* and MOP30 water subsidy* per month during the period of residence within an academic year. The utility charges are usually settled once per semester.

The utility unit charge (on or before 31/5/2023):

  • Electricity: MOP1.20/kWh
  • Water: MOP5.87/m^3

The utility unit charge (effective from 1/6/2023):

  • Electricity: MOP1.27/kWh
  • Water: MOP5.99/m^3

* Such subsidies are not applicable to summer stay.

Examples

Example 1:

Student A lived in a room alone in the 1st semester, while the electricity meter reading of the room was 7268kWh upon move-in and 7770kWh in the end of the semester.

  • Electricity consumption = 7770kWh – 7268kWh = 502kWh
  • Electricity unit charge: MOP1.27/kWh
  • Number of people in the room: 1
  • Electricity subsidy in that semester: MOP70 * 5 months = MOP350
  • Final electricity fee of Student A in that semester: (502kWh * MOP1.27 / 1 person) – MOP350 = MOP288**

Example 2:

Student B and student C lived in a room together in the 2nd semester. Student B moved out at the end of the 2nd semester while student C applied summer stay and continued to stay in the room alone during summer. The electricity meter reading of the room was 7242kWh in the beginning of the semester and 7907kWh when student B moved out, while it was 8057kWh when student C moved out in the summer.

For student B:

  • Electricity consumption = 7907kWh – 7242kWh = 665kWh
  • Electricity unit charge: MOP1.27/kWh
  • Number of people in the room: 2
  • Electricity subsidy in that semester: MOP70 * 5 months = MOP350
  • Final electricity fee of Student B in that semester: (665kWh * MOP1.27 / 2 people) – MOP350 = MOP73**

For student C:

  • Electricity consumption (in the semester) = 7907kWh – 7242kWh = 665kWh
  • Electricity consumption (in the summer) = 8057kWh – 7907kWh = 150kWh
  • Electricity unit charge: MOP1.27/kWh
  • Number of people in the room (in the semester): 2
  • Number of people in the room (in the summer): 1
  • Electricity subsidy in that semester: MOP70 * 5 months = MOP350
  • Electricity fee of Student C (in the semester): (665kWh * MOP1.27 / 2 people) – MOP350 = MOP73**
  • Electricity fee of Student C (in the summer): (150kWh * MOP1.27 / 1 person) = MOP191**

1. Enter your room number (e.g. 1002) and the last 4 digit of your student number (e.g. enter 3456 if your student number is AB123456), then click “SEARCH”.
2. After loading, a list of the monthly electricity meter readings (kWh) for the current academic year and a graph will be shown. The graph shows the monthly difference of the readings as well as the monthly average difference of all rooms as a reference.
