The opening ceremony and appreciation plaque unveiling ceremony of Cheng Yu Tung College was successfully held at 15:30 on November 20, 2014 in Cheng Yu Tung College. More than 50 honorable guests attending the ceremony, include Chairman of Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation, Mr. Kar-shing Cheng, the Chairman of Executive Committee of University of Macao Development Foundation, Dr. Tse Chi Wai, Rector of University of Macao, Professor Zhao Wei, the Deputy Director General of the Department of Education and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Macao SAR, Ms. Xu Ting, four members of the Legislative Assembly of Macao, and representatives from different fields of Macao, such as Macao Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Macao Foundation, Macao Daily, Macao Lotus TV, Telediffusion of Macau Co., Ltd, as well as Managing Director of San You Development Company Limited, Mr. Timothy Cheong, etc.
The Appreciation Plaque Unveiling Ceremony was taken by the donor’s representative, Mr. Kar-shing Cheng, and Rector Zhao. In the Ceremony, as an award presenter, Mr. Cheng awarded to 18 college members the Cheng Yu Tung College Scholarship. After the Ceremony, the honorable guests visited facilities of the College including college library, dining hall, study room, and student rooms. They also attended the Tea Party held by the College.
